Great video. I can’t remember the store (the one with the Godzilla shop) in Shinjuku. And they were making custom flower jars. Each one themed to what you want but most of the examples were anime characters. Was very cool/unique. My daughter made one.

Fabric stores were my goal on my last visit that totally failed on. I wanted to use it to cover homemade/hand made and sewn books. Thought the fabric would make a very unique cover, but after miles of walking on an injured foot I found that my research or GPS was wrong. Any good direction or areas would be great for my next visit. FYI... used locally sourced fabrics in my town and did hand drawn art work for all 14 books that I gave one to each family member. They still loved them.

Please, I beg you 🙏, don’t take a stamp rally book, purchased from Tokyu Hands, to the shrine or temple asking for goshuin 😮

I'm travelling to Osaka & then Tokyo in late August. I have a Suica card from an earlier trip to Tokyo in 2019. My question is... will my Suica work in Osaka or will I have to buy a ICOCA card to use the trains there? I understand that credit on the card lasts for 10 years so I'm not worried about any credit expiring (although I do wonder whether the Suica card also expires).

We just took this. It works but it's kind of a pain to sign up online.

We went the other way round last year. Biggest mistake of our trip. We spent the whole day queueing! The weather got worse as the day went by, and it was getting dark when we finally crossed the lake. And then more endless queues for the buses as night was falling! A rather stressful experience, especially when I realized the bus service stopped at 6 PM! We finally caught one without knowing its destination, and were back in Tokyo well after 9 PM. Never again.

How early did you leave Tokyo and what time did you get back? Which trains do you suggest and did you have to transfer? Were all the beautiful places within walking distance of a train station or were there special buses? What an excellent day trip!

The rainy season commences in the middle of June, lasting for about a month. However, you can avoid this annoying weather by going to Okinawa or Hokkaido. I’d recommend these you guys!!
